Colin Newton and Derek Wilson are the co-founders and directors of Inclusive Solutions, bringing together over 65 years of combined experience as educational psychologists working across the UK.

Since founding Inclusive Solutions in 2001, they have delivered a wide range of inspiring, inclusion-focused services — from casework and person-centred planning to innovative training and community building. With backgrounds as principal and senior educational psychologists for Nottingham City LEA, Colin and Derek bring a wealth of hands-on experience working with children and young people with complex and exceptional needs aged 0–19.

Together, they have co-authored several influential books, including Creating Circles of Friends, Circles of Adults, Restorative Solutions, Keys to Inclusion, and Person Centred Planning Together. Inclusive Solutions also operates as a small, independent publishing house, having published titles by internationally renowned inclusive education authors — such as Incurably Human, Taking the Time, Seeing the Charade, Quiet Riot, and Dear Parents.

Their commitment to building inclusive communities extends beyond the written word. They’ve helped establish and grow Community Circles in Nottingham, Suffolk, and Scotland, and continue to co-facilitate the long-running NG Circle in Nottingham, now in its eighth year.

Today, Colin and Derek lead a dedicated team of associates, delivering training and inclusive practice development both nationally and internationally — always with heart, purpose, and a belief in the power of community.
