Need a Resource for your Early Years Practitioners to Strengthen their inclusive thinking and work around Early Years children who may be disabled or challenging? Trying to promote Disability Equality awareness? Interested in promoting children's friendships? Why not give your practitioners some very accessible books and a Magic Wand? Lancashire County Council did this in 2007 and were very pleased with the results. They gave this pack of resources to over 1000 Child Minders and over a 1000 Early Years Practitioners working in the non maintained sector. This was the perfect compliment to work being undertaken on Inclusion across the County.

The Transformation Fund Strands
3.1a Over the period April 2006 to August 2008 the Transformation Fund will be spent on the following strategic priorities:
-
Training to achieve Early Years Professional Status
-
Quality Premiums for settings that already employ or recruit an employee with relevant graduate level qualifications
-
Recruitment Incentives for settings with newly employed staff with relevant graduate qualifications
-
Home Grown Graduate Incentives, a newer strand of the local authority managed Transformation Fund, for full daycare settings that do not have a graduate but an established staff member, who is undertaking the Early Years Foundation Degree at Level 5 and has committed to proceed to EYPS
- Training to Level 3, 4 or 5
Training to work with children with additional needs – specifically children with English as an additional language, children with disabilities and children with SEN.' (this is where we can help with books, resources and training!)
The rationale and evidence base for the Transformation Fund is set out in Annex A of Choice for Parents, the best start for children : Ten Year Strategy for Childcare, December 2004.
